The Gold Prospectors Association of Tucson (GPAT) is the only prospecting club in Tucson that is affiliated with the Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPAA), a nationwide organization. This affiliation allows us, as a club, to utilize all of GPAA''s Gold Claims.

Mar 20, 2017· There were several sites where placer gold was found in the Colorado River mining area, which was along the river from the mouth of the Grand Canyon. Be aware that some (but not all) of the Colorado River is offlimits to prospecting due to special designation, and many of the old placer diggings are now covered by various reservoirs.
